Alva Nordman / Chair
Alva Nordman is the Chair of the Conference Committee. She is 22 years old, originally from Finland. Currently, she is in her final year of studying for a bachelor’s in International Relations. Her academic interests revolve primarily around development in the form of economic and environmental policy. Through the Conference she aims to give the participants insight into their own interests through the lens of a common, highly relevant, theme.
Juliette Béguin / Secretary
Juliette Béguin has joined the Conference Committee as the Secretary. New to the city, Clio, and the field of IRIO, she began the Pre-Master in September. Originally from France, she has lived in Italy, Scotland, and Canada during her studies, which has developed her international outlook. With her experience in student associations in various areas and a background in management and economics, she brings a mix of skills and insights to the committee.
Adian van den Ouden / Treasurer
Adian van den Ouden is in his final year of studying International Relations, with a strong interest in international security, particularly energy security. He serves as the treasurer of the conference committee and has been an active member of his study association for several years. In addition to his academic and extracurricular pursuits, Adian is a professional photographer.
Mika Stoop / Acquisitioner
Mika Stoop is the acquisition officer for this year’s Conference Committee at the study association Clio. In this role, Mika is responsible for securing sponsorships and partnerships for the event. By fostering collaborations, Mika plays a vital role in organizing conferences that provide valuable insights and networking opportunities for members, reflecting Clio’s commitment to academic and professional development.
Elizabeth Winterhalter / Speakers Coordinator
Elizabeth Winterhalter is one of the Speakers Coordinators of the Conference Committee. She is 20 years old, originally from the United States of America. Through her upbringing, she has lived in various countries in the Middle East and Europe which has shaped her ambitions to play a role in the international community. Currently, she is in her final year of the International Relations programme. Her academic focus is around the global democratic decline. She aims to one day be a policy advisor for an International Organization. Through the Conference she aims to give the participants insight into a well known global issue from a variety of new perspectives.
Noa Aniorte / Speakers Coordinator
Noa Pazos Aniorte is one of the Speakers Coordinators of this year’s Conference Committee. She is 20 years old, originally from Spain. She is doing her second year in the bachelor’s of International Relations. She has been interested in diplomacy since she was very young.
Niko Talvitie / Public Relations
Niko is a second year student of International Relations and International Organization with great interest in history and politics. He is 23 years old and from Finland. With his extensive experience using editing software, he serves as the Public Relations of the Conference Committee and is in charge of the website and making promotional material for the event, including booklets and the announcement video.
Daniël Medema / Board Representative
Daniël Medema is the Commissioner of External Affairs on the board of Study Association Clio, where he manages partnerships and external relations, creating opportunities for members to engage with professionals in the field of international relations.
Having started his academic path in Business Administration, Daniël developed a solid foundation in management and strategy before transitioning to a pre-master’s program in International Relations. This combination of a business background and a focus on global affairs gives him a broad perspective on international issues and cross-sector collaboration.
