Magdalena Rubin Chair
Hello everyone! I am Magdalena! I am 21, originally from the Czech Republic, but I have spent some time living in Poland and the UK. Except for trying hard to be an academic weapon (which is not always really successful), I love to wall-climb, drink Earl Grey while reading books (I am a non-fiction literature girl only) and watch terrible Czech comedy movies. It’s my greatest pleasure to be the chair of the conference committee for this year. I am looking forward to inviting you all to one of the most professional events Clio organises and providing you with a thought-provoking theme and breath-taking speakers! Stay tuned!
Thomas Huisman Secretary
Hello! I am Thomas, 21 years old, and I am from the Netherlands. As the secretary of this committee, one could say I am also the vice-chairperson, although I am actually the only one who says that. Besides being a member of the Conference committee, I enjoy a good cappuccino, slightly cringy old music, or going on a run every once in a while. For the Clio Conference, I hope to do my bit in organizing an event with wide appeal throughout the Clio community and beyond. I hope to see you all there!

Paul Johann Lindhorst Commissioner of PR
Hello dear visitor! My name is Paul Johann Lindhorst, I am 21 years old and from at small town in Germany. I hope you are enjoying this website that I, as the PR of Conference, designed. Besides Clio, I do a lot of Uni work, enjoy reading and writing about IR, technology and politics more general, but I also love just meeting my friends for a beer at the Café de Zolder. Furthermore, I am passionate about photography, cooking and old cars. I will make good use of my photo- and videography-skills in the work with the committee and hope you will enjoy my promotion as well as the Conference in May! See you there!
Nicolas Larkin Commissioner of Acquisition
Hi there! I’m Nicolas, I am 20 years old, I was born in Chile but I have lived most of my life in Ireland. When I’m not trying to write the greatest papers ever I enjoy going to the gym and watching all sorts of movies. Coffee keeps me functioning throughout the day. I am this year’s Commissioner of Acquisition and yes I do take every opportunity to tell people that. I hope that I will fulfill my role to the fullest and help organize a successful and interesting conference.
Andrea Filova Speaker Coordinator
Hi! I’m Andrea, I am 20 years old and I come from Slovakia. While the majority of my time is spent drowning in course readings and attempting to put together at least semi-coherent papers, I also can’t say no to a nice hike, a good book or a cup of coffee in a cozy café. I am thrilled to be one of the two Speaker Coordinators of this year’s Conference Committee, together with my colleague Chris. I cannot wait for our event to come into reality and I hope that, together, we will put on a spectacular conference, full of established speakers and gaging takes on the topic.
Chris Roolaart Speaker Coordinator
Hello everyone! I am Chris, a 20 year old guy who was born in the Netherlands, but lived most of my life in Romania. If I’m not in a ballroom, dancing my days away, you could probably find me behind my laptop drowning in uni work. You could make me insanely happy with a slice of cheesecake, a good book, or videos of dogs and cats being dogs and cats. I am super thrilled to be one of the Speaker Coordinators together with my colleague Andrea, and I hope you’ll enjoy the variety of speakers we are preparing for you. See you on Conference Day!
Tim Bom Treasurer
Hello everyone! My name is Tim, I’m 22 years old and I was born and raised in The Netherlands. Besides holding on to money, as I am the treasurer of this committee, I also love to squash, go for a run, read a good book or just go out and have a good conversation with my friends. I hope that this conference will spark these conversations for you as well and that you will be inspired by what we put together! Oh and as the treasurer, I am of course obligated to urge you to buy a ticket, sparing me from having to do the accounting acrobatics after the event ;)
Wyona Louise van de Poel Board Representative
Hello! My name is Wyona and I am 21 years old. I was born and raised in Groningen, Netherlands. This year I am doing a board year at Clio and I am having a lot of fun with it. As the board representative of the committee I try to make sure everything is going according to plan and guide the committee to a spectacular conference, although they do not need that much guidance! In my freetime I like to row or just chill with friends. Hope to see you in May!
